WordPress Archives Drop Down Redirecting to Homepage

wordpress blue and white and grey logo

We picked up a problem with our blog today where when selecting a month from our Archive drop down (on the right side column), no matter which month you selected, it was redirecting back to the home page of our site.

It turned out that the problem was actually with the Yoast SEO Plugin configuration.

If you are having this problem then go into your Yoast SEO Search Appearance configuration page:

Yoast SEO Search Appearance

Then select the Archives tab from the top menu:

Yoast SEO Archives

Then within the Archives tab, scroll down to the Date archives settings:

Yoast SEO Archive Dates Enabled

Then ensure that it is Enabled.

You should then reload your blog and test the Archive drop down option. You should find that it is now working.
