Today the NHS in the UK has come under attack from a ransomware attack causing huge damage to their systems which has had a knock-on effect on patients including cancelled appointments and operations.

This attack seems to have been able to attack the NHS due to outdated systems allowing the attack access through the Microsoft vulnerability which is patched in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS17-010This update was released in March 17.

This update is available through both Windows Update and the Microsoft Update Catalog.

To protect yourself, your customers or your in-house users, you should ensure that all user machines are fully up to date with their software updates and also ensure that any filestore servers or shares anywhere on your network are protected by fully patching these servers.

As we get any further information we will post here. Good luck and take care out there!
