Schedule Windows Shutdown using a Command Prompt

If you ever find that you need to schedule a Windows shutdown using a command prompt, then you can try this:

shutdown -s -t 60

The “60” variable in the command means 60 seconds and you can change this to whatever you require.

If you want to abort the shutdown, you can use this command:

shutdown /a

If you want to remotely shutdown a machine on your network, you can use this command:

shutdown /i

For a full list of all the commands you can use, run this command:

shutdown /?
