Regardless of how you like to spend your casino nights, whether you like to get in the mood by creating the right atmosphere or whether you are more the type of person that just likes to get stuck in, you will no doubt know that there are movies that have their characters visit the odd casino here and there if the movie is not solely based in or around a casino itself.

There are many iconic gambling scenes in movies but not all of them will inspire you to have a try for yourself. For instance, movies like Ocean’s Eleven (or Twelve, and Thirteen) are based around casinos but the main thrust of the plot is based around robbing them rather than playing any of the games, so here are three scenes from movies, some of which you may not have been aware of before.

#1 Casino Royale

The first name that springs to most people’s minds when you speak about casino scenes in movies is James Bond. However, while the casino game played in the original story was baccarat; if you have seen the most recent movie version of this story you will know that Bond plays Texas Hold ’em poker instead.

Of course, if you want to play either of these games at an online casino no tux will be necessary; or though you could, if you wanted, fix yourself a martini to add an extra dimension to your playing experience. Both of these games are available at online casinos such as lclubonline.com, along with many other table games and slots.

#2 Rain Man

Blackjack is also a very popular game at online casinos, and it is this that forms the centerpiece of one of the more iconic scenes in the top-grossing movie Rain Man, starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. The scene involves the title character using his special skill with numbers to count the cards and influence results. This movie scene is so iconic, that another hit film The Hangover aped this scene as an homage, even down to the clothing that the character was wearing.

#3 Goodfellas

Out of all of the Joe Pesci films with a gambling twist, the first one you might consider is Casino.  However, another hit movie of his, Goodfellas, includes a gambling scene where you will see an entirely different side of gambling where some of the central characters are socializing over a game of poker which gives you a further insight into their lifestyles.

While you might not want to model your own casino night on everything that happens in that scene, it does underline the social side of playing these types of games together.

To Wrap It All Up

It is likely that you have your own favorite movies with casino scenes in them, although the ones listed above may not even figure in your chosen repertoire, it is certain that you will have heard of most if not all of them, and there is nothing like getting yourself in the right zone than watching a movie with your favorite actor who combats and triumphs over a casino game that you yourself are wanting to play.
