Daniel Niederer, a lawyer by profession, founded the SevenFriday brand in Zurich, Switzerland in 2012. Before founding SevenFriday, he worked in the luxury industry for 15 years, assisting in the restructuring of companies that distributed luxury goods. Sevenfriday’s watch collections are quite distinctive. The watch cases are squared off, and the intricate dial designs are iconic. They exhibit a well-balanced blend of industrial design and originality.

The brand’s rapid market expansion and success can be attributed primarily to its social media presence. For increased promotions, the company has also collaborated with bloggers. The company also engaged in traditional marketing, primarily through the hosting of parties around the world. Here’s a list of the most intricate SevenFriday watches.

SevenFriday S2/01 Watch

One of the most intricate SevenFriday watches is the S2/01 Watch which belongs to the S-Series. The S-Series is SevenFriday’s most recent collection, and the first S-Series watch is named the S1/01. It has a square case similar to SevenFriday’s first watch collection, the P-Series.

More notably, the S-Series is arguably SevenFriday’s most readable watch yet, with thicker hour and minute hands coated with luminescent material. It shares design cues with its S-siblings, each influenced by a different “industrial” theme, but each with its design and overall aesthetic. It is inspired by the Industrial Revolution and has a rawer, more steampunk appearance and feel.

The S2/01 is unquestionably the most retro-looking of the lot. The case of the SevenFriday S2/01 is 47mm wide and made of polished stainless steel. It also has a sandblasted PVD antique brass “animation ring” (what SevenFriday calls the ring that surrounds the case). As its dial has elements that give it a raw industrial look, the antique brass animation ring enhances it well. The hour hand is antique brass in color, while the minute hand is rhodium in color.

They’re also painted with Super-LumiNova to make them visible in the dark. The partially skeletonized metallic dial is protected by a hardened anti-reflective mineral glass and features prominent Côtes de Genève markings as well as a polished rhodium SevenFriday plate.

SevenFriday T1/01 Cocorico Watch

The SevenFriday Cocorico mixes the brand’s T1 line case with a contemporary, masculine perception of the Gallic Cockerel chicken iteration. It is a chicken-inspired wrist watch that depicts the chicken in its most stylish form as a component of French hero personality mythos.

The male chicken represents not only confidence and strut, but also volume and flamboyance. In comparison to other SevenFriday models, the SevenFriday T1 series is very simple to watch. The only thing on the dial is the time, with the traditional hour and minute hands.

The Japanese Seiko NH70 movement inside the watch operates at 3Hz and has a power reserve of 40 hours. The layout of the face, on the other hand, is playful, combining artistic elements with views into the movement and many traditional watch dial features, such as a very readable silver minute scale ring and a novel-looking hour marker ring closer to the center of the dial. The whole watch glorifies the French flag’s red, white, and blue colors. It also has a 45mm wide, rounded-square case with blue PVD siding.

The colors red, white, and blue are incorporated into the overall composition, with the overall impact of the watch being blue with some small red and white accents. The case is also water-resistant to 30 meters, and the dial is protected by a K1 mineral crystal.

SevenFriday P3/07 KUKA III Watch

SevenFriday first partnered with the automation and robotics company KUKA AG in 2013 for the “P01/03 Automatic Orange Black” model, which was influenced by KUKA AG’s robotic arms and made extensive use of the company’s signature industrial orange color. A central disc with a matte orange ring design affixed with a longer minute hand in gunmetal grey tip and a short orange hour hand is featured on this model.

The small seconds wheel is located about half-past 4 o’clock on the dial, with every 5-second increment indicated in orange numerals and every 10-second increment marked with a hole punch. At 9 a.m., there’s a 24-hour disc with a day-night indicator that oddly displays “day” in gunmetal grey and “night” in bright orange. The color scheme on the SevenFriday P3/07 KUKA III is in the middle of its forerunners, with a stronger use of orange. Because of the use of contrasting white minute indicators along with the inner bezel, as well as white pointers for the small seconds and 24-hour discs, the KUKA III is easily the most legible of the three.

The outer black silicone “animation ring,” as the brand refers to it, is grooved in a pattern reminiscent of the gripper extensions on a KUKA robotic arm. The black contrast stitching in an almost circuit-like pattern on the included orange silicone strap strengthens this theme, providing the entire watch a strongly robotics-themed aesthetic. At a frequency of 3Hz, the open balance wheel of the Miyota 82S7 movement is used. This is a heavy-duty Japanese automatic movement with a unidirectional rotor, a 40-hour power reserve, and manual winding capability.

SevenFriday P2B/03-W “Woody” Limited Edition Watch

This intricate SevenFriday P2B/03-W Woody limited edition watch is inspired by “historic industrial manufacturing processes, hand-hammered copper, old iron tools, and the art of wood joinery.” It is part of the P2 “Industrial Revolution” series. It encircles the dark grey PVD-treated stainless steel case (called a “box”) with an outer wooden bumper (called an “animation ring”). It encircles the dark grey PVD-treated stainless steel case (referred to as a “box”) with an outer wooden bumper (referred to as an “animation ring”).

This outer ring is made up of seven layers of American walnut, beech, and cherry wood that have been separately shaped, lacquered, and layered, according to the brand. The seconds disc has been partially skeletonized, and the dial-side view of the automatic Miyota 82S7’s balance wheel has been expanded.

Takeaway

The widespread acceptance of SevenFriday watches around the world is already a testament to the brand’s quality. Its intricate designs, superior quality, and reliable and precise movements are enough to convince many buyers to spend a significant amount of money. Even though SevenFriday is relatively new to the watch industry, it is already experiencing brand success. A SevenFriday watch will not let you down.
