So the big news of the day is that some more details of Windows 10 features have been released during a live demo by Microsoft.

We have been using the Technical Preview of Windows 10 for some time now so its not all that exciting news for us really and Windows 10 is not all that much different from Windows 8.1. However, there are a few new interesting developments that we are very interested in.

One is that Windows 10 will be FREE (not something Microsoft do lightly!) to upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8 devices and the other is that you can stream your Xbox One games to your Windows 10 device – something we have been waiting for, for a very long time.

It all sounds pretty good and we are looking forward to the release of Windows 10 but with the technical release licence valid until April 2015, we can probably expect a more final beta release after that taking us into the summer when an RTM release will come and finally a public release – probably around September 2015 – although this is complete guess work on our part and is founded by no concrete evidence whatsoever!

So, we wait and no doubt it will be released via either an ISO download or maybe even simply a Windows Update (can’t see Microsoft shipping out every Windows 7 and 8 customer a DVD!) which means that when it is finally released, it will take days, if not weeks to actually get hold of and we can see the Microsoft apologies now “Due to unprecedented high demand on our servers…”
