When running Configuration Manager OSD Task Sequences, it can be extremely frustrating trying to find the ever moving log files if you get an error during the deployment.
The log files move locations on your hard disk depending on what stage of deployment your task sequence is at.
To try and help you find where your task sequence log files are please see the table below:
Task Sequence Stage WinPE – Before HD Format WinPE – After HD Format Windows – No Client Installed Windows x86 – Client Installed Windows x64 – Client Installed Task Sequence Completed x86 Task Sequence Completed x64 |
Log Location x:windowstempsmstslogsmsts.log x:smstslogsmsts.log c:_SMSTaskSequenceLogsSmstslogsmsts.log c:windowssystem32ccmlogsSmstslogsmsts.log c:windowssysWOW64ccmlogsSmstslogsmsts.log c:windowssystem32ccmlogssmsts.log c:windowssysWOW64ccmlogssmsts.log |
This should now allow you to be able to quickly and easily find your task sequence log files during any stage of deployment.
