If you are using Microsoft DaRT 8 to enable you to be able to remote onto machines that are in WinPE during an OSD, then you will find that if you are using an operating system other than Windows 8, you will struggle to install the DaRT Remote Viewer tool.

To get around this, do not run the installer by double clicking it, start a command prompt and use the following command:

 msiexec /a MSDaRT80.msi

By using this, it will run the installation successfully on your Windows 7 operating system and you can then remote access your WinPE clients using DaRT 8.

If you wish to put this into your Configuration Manager software catalog, then you can use a very similar command to enable it to work on Windows 7 machines.

The code for the CMSC is:

 msiexec /a MSDaRT80.msi /q /norestart
