Our Configuration Manager 2012 Installation Update

Well we now have our new 2012 ConfigMgr up and running both in the lab and now in production – have to say that it was a very easy install and migration process and we’ve not really hit any problems.

All the basics are in and working so we are now moving onto making the system do the custom items like we had working in our 2007 version – like AutoCAD and Adobe serial number collections.


Very impressed with the application catalog to make our users self service, but not impressed with the lack of email notification when a user requests software through it. So, had to go back to the drawing board and although not perfect, I’ve written a Orc2012 Runbook that looks at our CM2012 database and emails our helpdesk when there is a software request waiting to be notified.
